Finding You Pet
|
| |
- Check your neighborhood
- Take the time to walk around as you call
your pet
- Carry some food to lure your pet out
from a hiding place. Also carry your pets
leash - you don't want to be unprepared!
- Ask everyone if they have seen your pet.
Carry a recent pet photo. Make sure that
everyone knows your pet is missing. A small
reward will motivate people to search.
- Drive around your neighborhood at night.

|
| |
Check the Animal Shelters
in your area |
| |
- We recommend you check for your pet by
coming to the shelter. (Lost reports will
not be taken over the phone.) Bring with you
a detailed description of your pet and/or a
picture that we can keep to watch out for
one to come in.
- Our shelter tours are Monday - Friday
12PM until 5PM.
- Keep trying. Some people will hold a
lost pet at the house for several weeks
before turning it in to an animal shelter.
-
DON'T GIVE UP!
-
Some animals are found
months after being lost!
-
Contact other animal
shelters and services in your area.

Posters, Posters, Posters
|
| |
- Place posters in shopping centers, on
telephone poles, in vet offices, in pet
stores, in grooming parlors and with the
animal shelters in your area. PLEASE NOTE:
You city has regulations regarding the
posting of signs on public property. Please
contact your city's code enforcement
department for information.
- Including your pet's photo will attract
attention to your poster.
- Be sure to include your pet's name, a
phone number (day and evening), a good
description of your pet and an offer for a
reward.
- For safety purposes, do not post your
address.
- Print a lost pet poster. Click

| |
Use the Newspaper |
| |
- Place ads in your local newspapers. The
Derrick and News-Herald will place a Found
Pet ad for free...this motivates people to
place the ad and help you find your pet
sooner!
- Read the "found" ads and respond to
anything that might possibly resemble your
pet.
- Remember, a white animal may easily turn
into a gray or tan color after being
outdoors for a few days.

Use other Media Services
|
| |
- Check with your local radio station for
lost and found services.
- Check with your local cable television
stations.
- Check our web site frequently...new
pictures of animals are posted regularly.
